My bin hasn't been collected

Tell SWISCo that your rubbish, recycling, food waste or clinical waste has not been collected.

Some of our recycling collections are delayed. Please leave your recycling out and our crews will return as soon as possible.

We collect general household waste once a fortnight and recycling once a week on a scheduled collection day. If we've missed your bin please tell us:

  • after 6pm on the day of the collection (due to crew finishing times)
  • within 2 full working days.

If appropriate, we'll arrange another collection.

Please don't report a missed collection until after 6pm on the day of the collection. Waste and recycling collection times can vary throughout the day.

Reasons for a missed bin collection

We may not have collected your bin because: 

  • It wasn't left out on time. See when is my bin collected?
  • You've put the wrong materials in your bin. You may have a sicker/tag on your bin or recycling container. See what goes in my bins?
  • Your bin was too heavy.
  • Our vehicle has broken down.
  • Bad weather stopped us collecting your bin.
  • Your road was blocked and this stopped us from collecting your bin.

If your road was blocked, we will try to collect your bin at least two times on the scheduled day of collection. If we could not collect your bin, will we return the next working day. If we still could not collect your bin, we will return with smaller vehicles.

Please only use this form for making new reports. 

You can only report a missed collection if the crew has marked your property as complete. If you cannot see a type of missed bin on the form, the crews have not marked it as collected yet.

What happens next

Once reported, we will re-schedule the collection and collect your bin within 2 working days. Please make sure to leave your bin out for collection once you have reported it missed.

If you have previously reported your missed collection and it has not been collected within 2 full working days, please contact us on 01803 701310. We’re available Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4.30pm. 

Garden waste

If you think we've missed your garden waste collection you must tell us within 2 full working days. Once you have told us, we will arrange another collection.
