Young people who are thriving through learning beyond the classroom are taking centre stage at this weekend’s Tor-VYBZ Festival.

Torbay’s SEND Partnership has received positive feedback from the Department for Education (DfE) and NHS England (NHSE) following a recent stocktake review, marking an encouraging milestone in the partnership’s improvement journey, while recognising that continued effort is needed to build on this progress.

Hundreds of primary school pupils from across Torbay have taken part in the Let’s Build challenge, helping to inspire the next generation and showcase career opportunities within the construction industry. 

Tor-VYBZ is Torbay’s first youth-led grassroots music festival, created and delivered by young people with the support of Torbay’s Sound Communities CIC.

Pupils at one of Torbay's biggest primary schools will be part of a greener future thanks to a major upgrade to the heating and hot water system. The project at Sherwell Valley Primary School in Torquay will see end-of-life gas boilers in the lower blocks replaced with air source heat pump systems.

Hyde Road car park in Paignton will be temporarily closed from Monday 13 July to Friday 24 July to allow essential ground investigation works to take place ahead of a major redevelopment project for the town. The car park will reopen on Saturday 25 July.
