Torre Abbey is inviting residents and visitors to make the most of the summer season with a packed programme of exhibitions, outdoor theatre, family activities and community events throughout August.

At the heart of the summer programme is ‘Stay A While’, a major exhibition running until Saturday 5 September 2026. The exhibition showcases a rarely seen works from Torre Abbey's collection, exploring the evolution of British landscape painting, from the elegance of the picturesque movement to the dramatic power of the Romantic Sublime.

Families can also enjoy a range of nature-inspired craft workshops and drop-in activities throughout August, offering children and young people the opportunity to get creative while exploring the Abbey's historic gardens and surroundings.

The summer programme continues with two outdoor theatre productions in the Abbey's stunning grounds.

On Friday 7 August, families can join Mowgli, Baloo and Bagheera for ‘Jungle Book!’, a lively musical adaptation packed with original songs, audience participation and adventure.

Then on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 August, Four Forty Theatre returns with its energetic production of ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream’. Known for its fast-paced performances and inventive storytelling, the company delivers Shakespeare's classic comedy in an accessible and entertaining format for modern audiences.

The season culminates with Torre Abbey's popular Summer Fair on Saturday 22 August, from 11am to 4pm. With free entry, the event will feature more than 30 local traders, live entertainment, animal encounters, food stalls and a wide range of family-friendly activities.
