Whichever approved venue you choose for your ceremony, you will need to have a Registrar conduct the ceremony.

Whichever approved venue you choose for your ceremony, you will need to have a Registrar conduct the ceremony.

Make sure the approved venue is available before booking your ceremony.

We currently take ceremony bookings up to 2 years in advance.

Book your ceremony

Once you have booked your venue and ceremony you will then need to book an appointment to give notice.

You need to make sure that you can complete the legal notice requirements before booking your marriage or civil partnership. You must:

  • be free lawfully to marry or form a civil partnership
  • have all the relevant original and valid documentation with you to give notice (proof of Torbay residency and nationality)

If your ceremony cannot go ahead due to missing paperwork then your fees will not be refunded.

Ceremonies outside Torbay

If your ceremony is being held outside Torbay you will need to contact the Register Office in that area to book the ceremony. However, if you live in Torbay you will also need to make an appointment with us to give notice.
