ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that Torbay Council has made the above Order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers the effect of which is to introduce a Prohibition of Driving on the road specified in the Schedule to this order and is proposed in order to improve road safety for all road users.

The Order will be implemented initially on an experimental basis for up to eighteen months, after which time it will be reviewed. The Council may then make the Order permanent or choose to abandon it and this order will come into force from the 17^th September 2026.

All objections and other representations relating to the Order must be submitted within 6 months of the start of this order, or if the order is varied by a subsequent order or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 from the date that variation order or modification comes into force. These objections must be submitted in writing or e-mail to the address given below and must arrive no later than 17th February 2027 and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
