Election of a Councillor to Brixham Town Council

Parish Ward: Furzeham with Summercombe

Number of Councillors to be elected: One

1. Nomination papers may be obtained by emailing electoral.registration@torbay.gov.uk or by telephoning 01803 208008. Paper copies can be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer, Town Hall, Castle Circus, Torquay, TQ1 3DR, during the times stated below.

2. Nomination papers must be hand delivered to the Returning Officer at the Town Hall, Castle Circus, Torquay, TQ1 3DR between 10am and 4pm on any working day from the publication of this notice (excluding weekends, bank holidays and Christmas Eve) but no later than 4 pm on Friday 2 January 2026. Candidates are advised to book an appointment to submit their nomination papers by emailing electoral.registration@torbay.gov.uk

3. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 29 January 2026.

4. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday, 13 January 2026. Applications can be made online: gov.uk/register-to-vote.

5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Town Hall, Castle Circus, Torquay, TQ1 3DR by 5 pm on Wednesday, 14 January 2026.

6. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector's Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 21 January 2026. Applications can be made online: gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate

7. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Town Hall, Castle Circus, Torquay, TQ1 3DR by 5 pm on Wednesday, 21 January 2026.

7. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Town Hall, Castle Circus, Torquay, TQ1 3DR by 5 pm on Thursday, 29 January 2026.
