Technology enabled care (TEC)

At a glance

  • More than 1,600 people received technology-enabled support.
  • New technology and digital systems were introduced.
  • Services continued during a significant provider transition.

Technology Enabled Care helps people to remain safe, independent and connected while living in their own homes. During 2025/26, the service underwent a significant transition following the liquidation of the previous provider. Working with national partners, a new provider was appointed, ensuring continuity of support for the 1,632 people who relied on the service.

Throughout the year, work focused on stabilising the service, introducing new digital technology and improving the way people access support. This included a new ordering system, a dedicated Alarm Receiving Centre and improvements to referral processes. These developments helped maintain confidence in the service and supported plans to move towards a fully digital service by the end of 2026.
