Torbay on the Move ‘Move More’ Grant Scheme 2026/2027

Supporting more people to move more.

Overview

The ‘Move More’ Grant Scheme is designed to support community groups, charities, voluntary organisations, faith groups and local partners to help the least active residents of Torbay become more physically active, which will improve health and wellbeing, and reduce social isolation.

The scheme focuses on gentle, inclusive and accessible activity opportunities for people who currently do little or no regular exercise.

This includes residents across Torquay, Paignton and Brixham, with priority for communities experiencing poorer health outcomes, deprivation, loneliness, disability, or inactivity.

This fund is not about sport for the already active, it is about helping the least active residents take their first steps toward better health and wellbeing.

Aim of the Fund

To help Torbay residents who are least active to move more, feel better, and live healthier lives through welcoming local community activity opportunities.

“We want every resident in Torbay—whatever their age, background or fitness level—to have the chance to move more, feel better and live healthier lives close to home.”
