Find out about the new funding opportunity for Torquay.
The government has announced £1.5 billion funding for 75 communities across the UK.
Torquay has been selected as the only town in the South West to receive £20 million.
Torbay Communities will be consulting with the public on how they think this money should be invested.
The Torquay Place Leadership Board who are responsible for the funding want to hear from people with ideas for specific initiatives. They will review the feedback and ideas and will develop a plan for the first 4 years. The board will prioritise schemes that will bring the most benefit to people in Torquay.
The Torquay Place Leadership Board are meeting in early September and will work up plans into a formal business case to be submitted by the end of November.
£2million of funding will be released each year starting in April 2026.
