Volunteer for events

Find out more about volunteering for local events.

Why volunteer?

Volunteering is about doing something that benefits the environment or other people. Volunteering comes with many rewards. You can:

  • meet new people and develop your network of contacts
  • learn new skills or build on ones you already have
  • give back to your community
  • boost your confidence
  • improve physical and mental health
  • increase your overall wellbeing

Volunteer roles

You could be involved in individual events such as the Bay of Lights Illumination Trail and the English Riviera Airshow or smaller events throughout the year.

Our volunteers help in many different roles:

  • welcoming visitors
  • providing information and signposting
  • fundraising
  • stewarding

Please note that for some of our volunteering opportunities, you might need to be over 18.

For certain roles, we may require you to complete a Disclosure and Barring Screening.

How much time to give

How much time you spend volunteering with us depends on the event. Some events are one-off. Others can last between one day to a weekend or are spread over a month. We will discuss this together with you and agree how much time you would like to spend volunteering.

Start volunteering

If you are interested in volunteering at a community event organised by us, such as The English Riviera Airshow, The Bay of Lights or other smaller events, we would love to hear from you.
