Welcome to this year’s annual report, which I hope you will enjoy reading.
Adult social care supports people to remain independent, connected to their communities and able to live the lives they choose.

This report intends to reflect both the achievements of the past year and the work still needed to meet future challenges.
Torbay has one of the oldest populations in the South West, and demand for support continues to grow.

At the same time, we must address the inequalities that impact the health and wellbeing of many local people. Against this backdrop, our staff, carers, providers, volunteers and partners continue to make a positive difference every day and you can read some good examples of this from professionals in the report.

We celebrate our CQC Good rating but also recognise there’s more work to be done – whether that’s through supporting carers, expanding housing options, strengthening our workforce or responding to growing mental health needs.

By working collaboratively, we will continue to improve services and deliver the support people need to live well, remain independent and achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.
