Participation groups for young people: opportunities to get involved and shape services in Torbay

Participation groups bring young people together to shape our community and services. They take part in collaborative projects, influence decisions and share their ideas, experiences and views.

In return we offer training and ongoing support, as well as recognising and rewarding their achievements and contributions. This means members develop confidence, leadership, and a wide range of transferable skills.

Our Impact Video 2025

Your voice matters. Your ideas can make a difference.

Take a look at our 2025 Impact Video to see what our young people have been getting up to, the different participation groups they’re part of, and how their voices are helping to shape change.
From sharing experiences and speaking up about what matters, to working with professionals and helping improve services - young people are making their voices heard.

Watch the video. Hear their voices. See the impact.

Find out more about the benefits of joining a group.

To join a group email one of our participation officers, or send them a message on WhatsApp on 07500 608141 or 07785 934552.

If you prefer not to join a group, we can work with you individually at a time and place that suits you best. We want to ensure your voice is heard so you can help shape services for children and young people. Our contact details are listed above.

You can also share your feedback about your experiences with Children's Services. Share your thoughts with our Point of You service.
