  • 15% higher salaries than the UK average – the second highest paid sector after financial services
  • a variety of entry and promotion pathways to suit all levels of academic achievement and age
  • significant contribution to net zero carbon, with retrofit skills in high demand
  • opportunities for 5,000 skilled workers to deliver Torbay’s £300m regeneration programme
  • Community Wealth Building commitments from Torbay’s anchor institutions, creating employment for residents through public spend.
  • the chance of an international career or to build an aspirational lifestyle by the sea, stay in the Bay and create a unique #TorbayStory

What our Build Torbay partners do

Build Torbay partners can help deliver careers activities, advice, guidance, information and insights into the construction sector. They can also host experiences and site visits for schools and adults. Partners also receive bespoke support from the Build Torbay Coordinator and the support of other Build Torbay partners.

“Since being a young girl, I always wanted to work in construction. And now I’m part of a dynamic team that delivers major infrastructure schemes all over the UK.

“I would encourage anyone to consider working in this exciting sector, especially young women, who may not have considered how incredibly fulfilling this career can be.”

Fallon Hart, Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator, Kier Construction:

“I’m enjoy working with Build Torbay to entice and encourage new people into the construction industry, showcasing the vast amount of opportunities available.

“I hope that young people in Torbay will be inspired to look at careers in construction and take up the wealth of employment and training opportunities created by Torbay’s transformational projects.”
