The delivery of this strategy is overseen by the Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Executive Group (DASVEG).

This is a multi-agency group. It comprises of representatives from statutory agencies:

  • Torbay Children’s Services
  • Torbay Community Safety Partnership
  • Devon and Cornwall Police

DASVEG also works with the following organisations:

  • Adult Social Care
  • Public Health
  • Education
  • NHS Devon
  • HM Prison and Probation Service
  • Department for Work and Pensions
  • Domestic abuse and sexual violence provider organisations. This includes the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC)
  • Victim Support. Delivery Partner for the Office of the Devon and Cornwall Police and Crime Commissioner
  • Voluntary sector organisations

The aim is to ensure that we hear from those that have lived through domestic abuse and sexual violence. We can then develop a better way of doing this.

DASVEG also acts as the statutory Local Domestic Abuse Partnership Board. This is for the purposes of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021.

The diagram below shows how DASVEG links into wider decision-making structures. These involve both Torbay Council and wider partnerships:
