This report has been commissioned by Shekinah, funded by the Nationwide Foundation and in partnership with us and Westward Housing.
Crisis were keen to investigate and evidence how Housing First and housing-led models of support for homeless people can be taken to a greater scale in the UK, and in doing so whether the positive step change in outcomes for homeless people achieved in the international context can be replicated at home.
Shekinah commissioned this study as part of a wider programme of work looking to end street homelessness in Torbay. The key question in this study is whether, how, under what circumstances and with what likely outcomes, Housing First can become the primary housing option for homeless people, thereby providing an alternative to existing models of provision.
