New taxi tariff - effective from 4 November 2026
The new taxi Tariff (table of fares) will come into effect on 4 November 2026.
If you hold a Torbay Council Hackney Carriage licence, you must have your taximeter reprogrammed and calibrated to the new tariff.
You cannot charge the revised fares before 4 November 2026. You can only charge the new fares once your taximeter has been re-calibrated to the approved tariff.
You must make sure that your meter agent completes our taximeter calibration certificate:

Once the certificate is completed:
- keep the completed certificate with your vehicle records
- email a copy of it to the Taxi renewals via taxirenewals@torbay.gov.uk within 7 days of its issue.
