If you are an existing Private Hire licence holder, the licence can be transferred to another person, or company.

Applications

To make an application to transfer the licence, please log into your online account.

When making the application, please select ‘Private Hire Plate Ownership change.

The existing licence holder is required to make the application and complete a transfer consent form. Without this document, the transfer cannot take place.

Important

Once a transfer application has been submitted, to complete the transfer you must upload the following images to the Taxi Licensing Upload portal

• V5 Registration document showing the new person, or company own the vehicle
• Vehicle insurance certificate (not the schedule) for the new person, or company
• Proof of £5 million Public Liability insurance for the new person, or company
• Transfer consent form (A photo of each page of the completed consent form is sufficient)

The existing vehicle attached to the Private Hire licence cannot be seperated. The attached vehicle will need to change ownership to the new person, or company that will hold the licence.
