  • Project name: Healthy Homes for Wellbeing
  • Investment priority: Communities & Place

About the project

Energy Saving Torbay is helping residents save money and stay warm in their homes by offering free practical energy advice and support.

Launched in Torbay in 2023, the scheme has already helped over 300 local households to save an average of £700 per year on their energy bills and the organisation running it is encouraging many more households to get involved.

How you can get involved

Drop in clinics

Energy Saving Torbay runs regular drop-in clinics across Torbay where visitors can receive a wide range of support such as help applying for benefits and grants, energy tariff checks, help to switch energy suppliers as well as energy and water saving tips.

All Torbay residents who are worried about or struggling with their energy bills are welcome to attend the drop-in sessions which take place at the following locations and times:

Request a home visit

Residents who have a household income of under £31,000 or those in receipt of benefits, can sign up for a free home visit. A trained home energy adviser will assess your home, install free energy-saving measures such as fixing LED light bulbs and providing draught providers, and provide bespoke advice for you and your property on how to save money and conserve energy.

Funding is also available to help residents apply for energy efficient, cost-effective products such as white goods and carpets (subject to eligibility criteria). You can sign up for a home visit at one of the drop-in clinics listed above or complete a referral form online.
