Whether you’re just starting out or looking to grow exponentially, our central business support programme is here to help.
Start Up, Stay Up, Scale Up, which is led by our Economy Team and funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), is designed to help Torbay businesses of all sizes and industries to achieve their ambitions.
It combines the most successful parts of previous UKSPF-funded business support programmes, ensuring consistency and maximum benefit for your business.
Start Up Torbay is dedicated to nurturing Torbay’s entrepreneurial spirit and giving you the confidence, skills, and practical advice you need to start a business.
Through the programme you’ll get access to a variety of support including a six week in-person start up workshop, 1-2-1 meetings with an impartial business advisor, and variety of workshops and seminars from local experts.
Additionally, if you’re a budding or new Social Enterprise, we can provide dedicated support through local experts Local Spark.

We understand that effective business support is not a one size fits all offer. Our Stay Up programme is open businesses in Torbay who are beyond the start-up stage but not looking to grow headcount or services.
We can provide a variety of interventions, including workshops and webinars, all of which are designed to help take your business from surviving to thriving.

The Scale Up programme is designed for businesses aiming to grow, innovate, and push their enterprises forward.
The offer includes dedicated support from London-based innovation experts, Studio Zao, as well as innovation accreditations, tailored sessions, workshops, and hackathons – all designed to accelerate your business to new levels.
