Find out who to contact to get meals delivered to you at home and how to use a food bank.

If you are finding it difficult to prepare a hot main meal you could get help with this.

There are companies who deliver ready meals to you on a regular basis. They may be:

  • hot and ready to eat
  • or supplied chilled/frozen so you can heat them up

To use some of the services you will need:

Food banks

Food banks are community organisations that can help if you can’t afford the food you need.

If you are struggling to buy food the Torbay Food Alliance can help. They are a partnership of local community organisations working together to help people.

You’ll usually need to get a referral to a food bank from an organisation before you can use it. Organisations who can refer you include:

  • NHS
  • social care
  • Citizens Advice

You can refer yourself through the Torbay Community Helpline.

Online shop delivery services

Many local and national supermarkets have online grocery shopping and home delivery services.
