The Torbay Comunity Helpline is open to the people of Torbay to:

  • ask for help
  • volunteer their help
  • refer anyone they think or know needs help

If they don’t know the answer, they will find it for you.

If you need help or want to offer your help call the Torbay Community Helpline on 01803 446022.

Monday to Friday: 10am to 1pm and 3pm to 6pm
Saturday: 11:30am to 12:30pm 

Helpline support

The helpline can provide support for:

  • loneliness and isolation
  • mental health (we match people with befrienders and support groups)
  • information and advice
  • financial advice
  • housing support (there is a waiting list for this type of help)
  • grief and loss
  • children, families and young people
  • domestic abuse
  • getting online and digital troubleshooting (they don't give you equipment)
  • prayer and reflection
  • handy person to help with jobs around your home
  • urgent shopping or medical collections

Wellbeing Coordinators

The helpline can also refer you to Wellbeing Coordinators. They will have a guided conversation and ‘walk alongside you’ as you deal with any of the above.

Community Builders

The Community Builders can link you with:

  • a good neighbour in the community for friendship and support
  • social activities and groups
