Our Autism Partnership Board is highlighting the services available to autistic adults and their carers in Torbay over the next year. You can find details below.
This is a monthly drop-in service. It is for those that support or care for an adult who is on the autism spectrum (or are considering they might be) who do not have a learning disability.
Paignton Library - They meet every third Tuesday of the month from 2.00pm to 4.30pm. There are also two bookable sessions. These are for one-to-one appointments with Trish. They are from 1pm to 2pm and 4.30pm to 5pm.

There are online and in-person support groups available for autistic adults who do not have a learning disability. They provide members a platform to speak. This could be about day-to-day matters that may be affecting them. It is also a place to learn about a variety of topics relating to being autistic.
The Torbay group meets on the last Monday of the month from 2.30pm to 4.30pm at a venue near Paignton town centre.

This is a community interest company set up by autistic adults. They run social groups for autistic adults. Members can come and socialise in a safe environment with other autistic adults.
They meet every second Saturday of the month from 2.00pm to 4.00pm at a venue in Paignton. Additional evening and weekend events are planned by the group on a month-to-month basis and include a regular games night in Torquay and a coffee morning in Paignton.

A.I.M.S is a service run by Therapy Services South West CIC. They provide 45 minute one-to-one sessions once a month. This can be over the phone, face to face or online. They will focus on:

is a wallet-size card that an autistic person can give to emergency services, healthcare professionals or members of the public to inform them that the holder is autistic and give guidance and links to further resources to help provide sensitive, appropriate treatment. The card is available to any autistic person living in Devon or Cornwall, doesn’t require a diagnosis is completely free of charge.
