The service is available to all Governors, Head Teachers/Principals, clerks and associate members of maintained schools and academies. We can provide advice, development, training and information on all aspects of school and academy governance. The service aim is to help all governing bodies become excellent, and contribute to improving outcomes for all.
Services for all maintained and academy governing bodies, clerks and headteachers offered through our subscription service include:
- Information and induction training for new governors, associate members and clerks
- Advice and information, including changes to statutory responsibilities
- Confidential advice and support on governance legislation and other governance matters by telephone and email
- A training programme of centrally organised courses
- Maintenance of a database of governor records
- An electronic newsletter circulated to all governing body members
We also administer the recruitment process for Local Authority governor nominees and co-ordinate the election of Parent Governor Representatives.
