ACT Early - Help for family and friends

Find out what we do to prevent extremism and terrorism and what to do if you think someone is involved.

You understand your family and friends best. You will know if how they are behaving is out of character.

Noticing changes with no obvious explanation could mean that something is wrong.  Finding out what is wrong can be difficult, especially if someone is being secretive.

There could be many different reasons for changes in behaviour, not just radicalisation. It’s important to understand the context.

Counter Terrorism Policing has developed ACT Early. This is a website full of information and resources. It might help you spot the signs of radicalisation.  Some of the real-life stories shared may describe similar situations to your own.

The website gives you the tools you need to:

  • start a conversation with your loved one or friend
  • talk to someone about your concerns
  • get help

There is also a section which may provide answers to some of the questions you may have.
