Find out more about the government's launch of a national wraparound programme.
In Spring 2023, the government announced a national wraparound programme. The aim is to support all working families to access wraparound childcare from 8am to 6pm, in their local area or on their school site.
All parents in England with primary school aged children are eligible to access wraparound childcare.
Wraparound childcare is childcare that ‘wraps around’ the conventional school day. It is:
Part of supporting working families with childcare, is the offer of holiday clubs. These are put on through a variety of providers and are flexible with their offers of complete wraparound care from 8am - 6pm or during school hours. Holiday clubs offer a variety of activities, from ball and water sports to crafts and bug hunts! More information on how to find holiday clubs in Torbay is available here. Some of these holiday clubs also offer a programme called HAF for free-school meal eligible children and young people, more information on this can be found here.
