Make sure our social workers to understand the value of the fostering role. To understand how their actions and practice support the delivery of a high-quality fostering service.  

Provide social workers with the relevant training and development opportunities. 

Provide fostering families with high quality, tailored training and development opportunities.  

Provide personalised support to our fostering families. We will give proper support which includes out of hours response.  

Continue to recruit fostering families who have a wide range of skills and experience. Those who can offer homes to a wider range of our cared for children. To include siblings, older children or children who may have additional needs. 

Continue to recruit fostering families from a diverse background. This will mean we can offer a range of homes and enhance the quality of the matching process.  

Show our core values of equality and the value of diversity. We will do this through our actions. We will also do this through strategic review of practice, policy, training and development.  

Be compliant with the statutory, regulatory and legislative framework.

Recognise learning opportunities. We must ensure that we constantly monitor, review and develop our service delivery. 

Have a team approach, which centres on our children and their needs. As a team we will support our young people and focus on the achieving of best practice.
