Part of a licensed driver’s requirement is that an up to date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is in place. The check lasts for 6 months and must be renewed at the end of this time.

Please ensure that when applying for an Enhanced DBS check you subscribe to the DBS update service as soon as possible. This subscription costs £13 a year and means we are able to check your DBS every 6 months. Failure to sign up to the DBS update service will result in a new Enhanced DBS check being requested at your own cost every 6 months.

If you have been charged or convicted of any driving or criminal offence since the issue of the last DBS check, you must inform us immediately and in some cases a new DBS check will be required to determine if you are suitable to carry on holding a licensed drivers badge with us.

Applications

We will notify you if we require a new or updated DBS check in advance of it expiring.

You require an Enhanced DBS check that covers working with children and vulnerable adults within your line of work. 

We do not carry out new or renewal DBS checks on your behalf.

A local company called ‘Anagram People Opens in a new window’ can conduct an Enhanced DBS check on your behalf or, alternatively, you will need to find another registered umbrella body that are registered to carry out an Enhanced DBS check.

Once you have obtained an Enhanced DBS check, please upload it through the following online form.

We can only accept your Enhanced DBS check by submitting it through the above online form.

Please do not send a copy, or the original to us in the post as we will not accept it.

For all new applicants, please keep hold of the certificate until you are ready to carry out your knowledge test, this certificate must be produced at this appointment.

Important

We are only able to accept DBS checks that are less than 2 months old, if the certificate is older than this, you will need to obtain a new DBS check. 

It may be that you have had a DBS check carried out for another role (i.e. school contract, scout leader), if this is the case, you will need to produce it to us so we can update our records.  The check must meet all of the requirements as mentioned above.
