Graffiti is the illegal writing of messages, painting on or carving of public and private property.
We can only remove graffiti on buildings and street furniture that we own. The removal of graffiti on private property is the responsibility of the person who owns the property.
Your safety is important. If you see someone graffiting contact the police on 999.
Anyone we catch in the act can be issued with a £75 Fixed Penalty Notice. If they choose not to pay it they can face a £2,500 fine in court.
