The Chief Executive of Torbay Council has been notified that two members of the Council no longer wish to be treated as members of the Conservative group.

Councillor Katya Maddison (Shiphay) and Councillor Patrick Joyce (Wellswood) have formed the Prosper Torbay Group.

This will mean that the political composition of the council will now be:

Conservative - 17 seats

Liberal Democrats - 15 seats

Independent Group - 2 seats

Prosper Torbay - 2 seats

The Leader of the Council and Cabinet will remain the same. Subsequent changes to the memberships of some of the council's committees will be discussed at the next meeting of the Council.
