It’s Foster Care Fortnight (15-28 May) and if you’re thinking about fostering or just want to know more, Torbay Council’s Fostering team will be attending several events over the next few weeks.

This year's theme for Foster Care Fortnight is Fostering Communities and the Council is working with a range of local partners to promote fostering. The Council was recently accredited as a ‘Fostering Friendly’ employer by the national charity The Fostering Network.

Nancy Meehan, Director of Children’s Services, said: “Providing a safe and loving foster home is one of the best gifts you can give to a cared for child, but many of our foster carers have also described fostering as a gift and a privilege.

“This is the perfect time to make a positive life change with child fostering if you are considering a new work/life balance. If you have flexible working hours, a spare room, and a kind heart, you could become Torbay Foster Carer. If you would like to find out more why not come along to one of these events that our Fostering team will be attending, or you can also contact them on 01803 207845 or visit our Fostering webpages.”

Upcoming events the Fostering team will be attending:

Thursday 25 May, 11am to 1.30pm - Paignton Town Centre.

Saturday 17 June, 10am to 3.30pm - Armed Forces Day event at Paignton Green.

Sunday 2 July, 10am to 4pm - Galmpton Gooseberry Fair, Galmpton.
