Thank you to Torbay residents for your ongoing patience.

We are pleased to announce that after a recruitment drive SWISCo have been successful in recruiting six new waste and recycling employees so far, both Loaders and Drivers, with plans to recruit more.

We are hoping that the employment of new staff will help with the current delays to waste and recycling collections.

In addition to recruiting new employees, SWISCo are continuing to increase driver capacity by providing training for employees who are not currently HGV drivers, via their driving academy.

If you are interested in the position of Driver/Loader within the SWISCo waste and recycling team you can find out more information and how to apply via our website.

Mike Morey, Cabinet Member for Environment, Infrastructure and Culture said: “We once again apologise to residents for the ongoing delays to recycling collections caused by sickness and staff shortages. We want to assure you that we are on the case, looking at the issue and recruiting to the waste and recycling team. We hope this will soon improve the local situation”

We ask you to please bear with us as we continue to catch up on collections, leave your recycling ready for collection and we will be with you as soon as possible.
