A School Travel Plan is a package of measures that encourage a shift away from car use towards safe, sustainable modes of travel for the journey to and from school. It includes safety and health concerns and suggests ways to make improvements and identify barriers preventing active travel at your school.
Torbay schools can produce a travel plan using an online interactive tool called Modeshift STARS Opens in a new window (Sustainable Travel Accreditation and Recognition for Schools).
The STARS scheme enables schools to gain national accreditation at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels and recognises schools excellence and dedication to the promotion of walking, cycling and other forms of sustainable travel for the school journey.
