DeCiDe is a voluntary register of children/young people in Torbay with Disabilities. It holds basic information on Children/Young People aged 0 -19 years who have a disability or an illness which is likely to last for more than 12 months and which has a substantial effect on their ability to carry out everyday activities.

What types of disability are included?

The types of disability that are included in the directory are physical, learning, sensory, speech and language and health difficulties.

What is the information used for?

The information is used to give the best and most useful services; the information held in the directory is used to find out how many children and young people in Torbay have a disability. This information (without identifying the family) is provided to organisations to be able to plan, provide and monitor their services effectively. The inclusion of a child or young person’s name is voluntary.

Other benefits

Those registered will be given an ID card which which give various discounts from a number of providers and activities that the children or young people may wish to use.

You will receive a twice-yearly letter on news and information about relevant facilities, events and items of interest.
