Visit Torbay’s Apprenticeships Fair on Wednesday 5 February to find out about over 300 live vacancies and kick start your career.

The free Torbay Apprenticeships Fair will take place at the Riviera International Conference Centre between 9:30am and 1pm. It provides a space for employers, training providers and anyone wanting to learn about the amazing opportunities through apprenticeships.

Cavanna Homes, Gooch & Housego, Lackfords Debt Recovery, Midas Construction, Re4orm, Richardson Hotels, South Devon College, St Austell Brewery and Torbay NHS Foundation Trust are some of the top employers at the free event.

The Torbay Apprenticeships Fair is for school and college learners, parents, and anyone considering an apprenticeship or looking to develop their skills.

Councillor Swithin Long, Torbay Council Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Tourism and Housing, said: “Apprenticeships offer a great way for our business community to grow; bringing in new skills or developing existing staff skills can yield dividend to a company’s bottom line. It’s also a great way for people in or out of work to develop their skills and their career. TDA is working with local partners to deliver this campaign during National Apprenticeship Week 2020. Our aim is to bring communities, employers and training providers together.”

Rebecca Davies, Senior Economic Development Officer at TDA said: “We are excited for the return of the Torbay Apprenticeships Fair, building on the success of last year’s event. Together, with partners, we are sharing the value of apprenticeships and seeing more businesses in Torbay take on apprentices.”

“During National Apprenticeship Week 2019 we reached over 1,000 people and in 2020 we will deliver a range of activities to engage with schools and businesses. By providing a new Employer Toolkit we are looking to engage with more businesses during National Apprenticeship Week.”

As part of the national ‘Look beyond’ and ‘Fire It Up’ campaigns on social media, local businesses and Torbay apprentices are gaining exposure, promoting the benefits and sharing inspiring stories.

National Apprenticeship Week is 3-9 February 2020, and throughout the week activities will take place across Torbay to share the value of apprenticeship. More information is available on TDA’s website.
