Our refurbishment programme of toilets across Torbay is still continuing. There are a lot of projects in the pipeline (excuse the pun) and an update is below:
Market Street - The new toilet block at the end of Market Street to replace the Old Town Hall Toilet will now be arriving around the 16th January and will be fully operational soon after. There has been a delay in this project due to issues relating to the site. Torbay Council with Healthmatic attempted to re-open the Old Town Hall Toilet recently, but a further water leak into the building has caused an electrical failure. In discussions with businesses in the town, many coffee shops and food outlets offer the free use of their public toilets, as their business works on each visitor is the potential next customer. We thank these business for offering this support.
Torquay Sea Front - Work to update this block has started, this will include a new unisex/disabled toilet, a pay to use shower to support beach and water sport users and pay on entry system with full decoration and new tiling. Even though work will be taking place the contractors will ensure that part of these toilets will always be open. The toilets will be fully open in February 2019.
Paignton Green - This block will be receiving refurbishment with new access arrangements including the pay on entry system, work will be starting around Christmas. They will be completed by March 2019. The facility to the rear of Festival on the seafront will remain open during this work.
Paignton Harbour - Work to change the entrance to these toilets will take place before Easter.
Goodrington - The new block in the Car Park by Quaywest is still on track and these will be open by Easter. Toilets at Goodrington North & South will be staying open all winter because of this work.
When the works on all of these toilets are complete all of these toilets will be pay to enter.
