Torbay's popular festive parking promotion returns this festive season

News Release PR9611 - published on 30 October 2026

Residents and visitors will once again be able to take advantage of Torbay Council's popular winter parking promotion this festive season.

Returning for its eighth consecutive year, the promotion will run from 28 November 2026 to 3 January 2027 (inclusive) in selected Torbay Council car parks across Brixham, Paignton and Torquay.

The promotion enables drivers to enjoy great value parking while visiting Christmas shopping, festive events, attractions, hospitality venues and days out across the Bay.

The initiative helps residents and visitors make the most of our town centres and surrounding areas during the festive season, encouraging them to spend longer enjoying local shops, cafés, restaurants and attractions while supporting the local economy.

The promotion will run alongside this year's Bay of Lights, which is expected to be the biggest and brightest celebration yet, featuring a 1.5-mile illumination trail, a real ice rink, Christmas market and festive events across all three towns. The offer allows visitors to make the most of their time in the Bay without needing to keep an eye on the clock.

Councillor Adam Billings, Cabinet Member for Pride in Place and Parking, said:

"We're pleased to bring back our popular winter parking promotion for an eighth consecutive year.

"The festive season is an important time for our local businesses, and this initiative helps make it easier and more affordable for residents and visitors to spend time in our town centres.

"Whether you're visiting the Bay of Lights, doing some Christmas shopping, meeting friends and family or enjoying one of the many festive events taking place across Torbay, the promotion gives you more flexibility to make a day of it.

"I encourage everyone to take advantage of the offer and enjoy everything Torbay has to offer this winter."

The offer is available at the following car parks:

Brixham: Freshwater, Oxen Cove and Brixham Central (up to the maximum stay of 3 hours);

Paignton: Victoria

Torquay: Lower Union Lane, Union Square and Harbour car parks.

Fleet Walk car park is not managed by Torbay Council.

The fee will cover parking from when you arrive until midnight (excluding Union Square which closes at 7pm, and Brixham Central which limits parking time to a maximum of three hours between 7am and 3pm).
