Creative people and organisations across Torbay are being invited to showcase their work, find collaborators and share opportunities through a new, free website.

Launched by the Torbay Creative Cluster with support from Torbay Council, torbaycreativecluster.co.uk is designed for the people already making, producing and creating across the Bay. It gives businesses, freelancers, artists and cultural organisations a place to be found by one another and by people looking for creative skills.

Anyone working across Torbay’s creative community, from design, film and digital media to music, performance, arts, crafts and heritage, can create a profile in the searchable directory. The site also brings together local jobs, events and resources, and gives people a way to share opportunities with the wider network.

The launch is a first step towards making the scale and variety of Torbay’s creative work easier to see. By helping people discover local skills and connect across disciplines, the Cluster hopes to support new projects, commissions and career opportunities, while building a clearer picture of what the sector needs to grow.

Councillor Chris Lewis, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Place Development and Economic Growth at Torbay Council, said:

The creative sector plays a vital role in Torbay's economy and cultural identity, and the launch of the Creative Cluster website is an important step in bringing together our thriving creative community and ensuring local talent has the visibility and support it deserves. By fostering innovation, creativity and collaboration it will help create opportunities for local people and businesses, attracting investment and driving economic growth.

Matt Blay, Chair of the Torbay Creative Cluster, said: “There is already an extraordinary amount of creative work happening across Torbay, but too much of it is hard to find unless you know the right person. We want to change that.

“This website gives people a place to show what they do and discover who else is here. Whether you work alone, run a business, make art, work in culture or heritage, or are starting a creative career, we want you to see yourself in it. The more people take part, the more useful it becomes for everyone.”

The Cluster will use the platform to share local work and opportunities, listen to people across the sector and help make connections that lead to practical outcomes. Its longer-term ambition is to strengthen creative careers, businesses and cultural activity across Torbay, and make the area’s creative contribution more visible beyond the Bay.
