Just one month until the English Riviera Airshow

News Release PR9483 - published on 29 April 2026

With just one month to go, excitement is soaring for the 10th anniversary English Riviera Airshow which takes place from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 May.

As one of the UK’s largest free airshows, the event attracts tens of thousands of visitors to Paignton each year. Demand is expected to be especially high for this milestone occasion, so organisers are urging people to plan ahead and get involved in what promises to be a spectacular celebration on the English Riviera.

The English Riviera Airshow is a collaborative effort supported by us, the English Riviera BID Company, local businesses and organisations, and aviation enthusiasts.

Make the most of your Airshow experience

While the Airshow is free to attend, visitors can enhance their experience by booking reserved premium seating. For just £35 per day, spectators can enjoy an excellent location with stunning beachside scenes, prime viewing of the flying displays, and close proximity to event facilities and hospitality. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the Airshow in comfort and style.

Those planning to drive are encouraged to pre‑book car parking to make their visit as stress‑free as possible. Parking options include Zone 1 parking, just a 20‑minute walk from the main event, or Premium Parking located in the heart of the action.

Both parking options include all‑day parking (9am–11.30pm), plus a free official English Riviera Airshow pin badge and event programme. Reserved seating and parking are limited, so visitors are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment at www.englishrivieraairshow.co.uk.

Join the Crew

The English Riviera Airshow would not be possible without the dedication of its volunteers. Each year dozens of volunteers help the event run smoothly and ensure visitors have a safe, enjoyable and memorable experience.

With just a month to go, organisers are still recruiting new volunteers to join the crew and play a key role in delivering this much‑loved event.

A wide range of roles is available across the weekend, including stewards assisting with seating and parking, donation collectors, and distributors handing out merchandise and information. A variety of shifts are available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and volunteers can take on as many shifts as they wish.

Volunteering is a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of one of the region’s biggest events, gain valuable experience and meet new people. All volunteers are fully supported and become part of a friendly, welcoming events team.

Support the Airshow

The English Riviera Airshow is made possible through the support of partners, sponsors, volunteers and the local community. There are still opportunities for businesses and organisations to sponsor the event, raising their profile among thousands of Torbay residents and visitors while helping to secure the future of this flagship celebration. Sponsorship packages start from as little as £150. For more information, visit the English Riviera Airshow website.

An action‑packed weekend of flying and entertainment

This year’s 10th anniversary Airshow will feature three days of exhilarating flying displays, including appearances from some of the Royal Air Force’s most celebrated aircraft: the Red Arrows, Typhoon and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

The world-famous Red Arrows will take to the skies on both Friday and Saturday of the Airshow. Their trademark red, white and blue smoke trails promise to create unforgettable moments along the stunning Torbay coastline

For the first time in history, a woman will lead the Red Arrows. Wing Cdr Sasha Nash took over from Wing Cdr Adam Collins as the most senior officer in the Royal Air Force aerobatic team earlier this year and the English Riviera Airshow will be one of her first public appearances in her new leadership role.

The Typhoon will be wowing the crowds on both Saturday and Sunday and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) has been confirmed for all three days of the Airshow: Friday, Saturday and Sunday. An exciting range of civilian aircraft will also be taking to the skies over the weekend with breathtaking displays that are guaranteed to impress. The full civilian aircraft line-up will be announced in May.

Alongside the flying programme, visitors can look forward to an exciting opening night celebration, a lively programme of ground‑based entertainment, a wide selection of food and drink, family attractions and a vibrant festival atmosphere along Paignton seafront.

Cllr Jackie Thomas, Torbay Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Culture & Events, and Corporate Services, said: “This is a landmark year for the English Riviera Airshow, and we know it’s going to be incredibly busy. We urge visitors to book their seating and parking early to secure the best experience possible. At the same time, we’re calling on anyone who wants to be at the heart of the action to consider volunteering. It’s a rewarding way to support one of Torbay’s biggest events and be part of an amazing team delivering a truly special weekend.”

Carolyn Custerson, Chief Executive Officer, English Riviera BID Company said: “The English Riviera Airshow is a highlight of our events calendar, showcasing the destination to visitors.  As we celebrate the 10th anniversary, we’re encouraging people to make a break of it and enjoy everything the English Riviera has to offer - turning spectacular days out into a memorable short stay.”

The English Riviera Airshow has been held annually since 2016. It combines thrilling flying displays with ground-based festivities, captivating audiences of all ages.
