Find out about Fostering at one of our February information events

If you are interested in becoming a Foster Carer and want to find out more, you can come for a coffee and an informal chat with a member of our Fostering team at a number of events this month. 

February events

  • Saturday 14 February, 11am to 1pm - Paignton Library, Great Western Road Paignton, Devon, TQ4 5AG 
  • Wednesday 18 February, 11am to 1pm - Totnes Hospital, Coronation Road, Totnes, Devon, TQ9 5GH 
  • Saturday 21 February, 11am to 1pm - Brixham Library, Market Street, Brixham, Devon, TQ5 8EU 
  • Wednesday 25 February from 11am to 1pm - Dartmouth Medical Practice and Wellbeing Centre, Wessex Way, Dartmouth, Devon, TQ6 0JL 
  • Saturday 28 February from 11am to 1pm - Acorn Youth Community and Sports Centre, Lummaton Cross, Torquay, TQ2 8ET 

In addition, there are online Fostering information sessions, via Teams, organised by Fostering South West, the regional Fostering hub, taking place on Monday 23 February at 1pm – 2pm and 7pm – 8.30pm.

We are particularly looking for short breaks Foster Carers in Torbay, as well as respite or stay over Fostering, though we need all types of Foster Carers. 

If you Foster with Torbay you will get access to:  

  • Extensive support and training 
  • a dedicated social worker 
  • Mentoring from an experienced Foster Carer 
  • Support phone line 
  • access to a support network including local Foster Carers Forum 
  • events for you and your family throughout the year from a summer barbecue to Christmas party and the Train of Lights. 
  • Free beach hut access and other benefits such as free passes for Paignton Zoo and free tickets for home games at Torquay United, plus much more.
