ECOE Advice has opened an Energy Advice Centre in Torbay to boost its award-winning local service. Since 2018 ECOE Advice has been helping residents reduce energy bills by delivering home visits, telephone support and outreach activities across the Torbay area.

The first drop in session was held on Tuesday 22 July. The dedicated Energy Advice Centre - held at the People's Parkfield House (the blue building next to Parkfield) offers a drop-in advice clinic every Tuesday from 10am -3pm in their accessible ground floor location, where residents can get help with:

  • energy supplier tariff checking / switching;
  • energy bills and applying for discounts; energy and water saving tips;
  • accessing grants for insulation and heating;
  • heating control advice; Smart Meter help and guidance;
  • benefits and debt support and retrofit advice for upgrading homes.

ECOE Advice plan to offer an activities programme in the Autumn/Winter to include exhibitions, talks, training and workshops as part of their wider mission to share knowledge, and to help people improve the energy efficiency of their homes through smarter energy use.

ECOE Advice is a non-profit award-winning organisation funded by Torbay Council’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund to deliver the Energy Saving Torbay project. Thanks to this and other funding from Wales and West Utilities, the team are helping local households with impartial advice and practical support to lower energy bills, keep warm, well and safe and to help reduce carbon emissions for a greener Torbay.

“We are excited to be opening our first energy advice centre at People’s Parkfield in Paignton. The Centre provides a permanent location alongside our other regular drop-in clinics across the Bay at Paignton and Brixham libraries and Age Uk Torbay.” commented Tara Bowers, CEO at ECOE Advice."
