Calling all art lovers, explorers and dinosaur enthusiasts! The Cockington Court sculpture trail is returning once again this summer, and you’re invited.
The free sculpture trail, which is one of Cockington Court’s most popular events, opens to the public on Sunday 20 July and this year is inspired by a prehistoric theme.
Visitors of all ages are invited to discover over 20 sculptures created by talented local artists. Some of this year’s sculptures include a giant dinosaur egg, dinosaurs, raptors, fossils, and even a fun Fred Flintstone mowing the lawn!
The sculpture trail is open to the public daily, 10:30am to 4:00pm, from Sunday 20 July to Sunday 2 November 2025. To take part, collect a free map from inside the Manor House and follow the trail as it leads you around the beautiful grounds and buildings of the Cockington Court estate.
Cockington Court’s Director, Marissa Wakefield said:
“I’m really pleased to see how this year’s prehistoric theme has inspired so many talented local artists. The trail is a fantastic way for visitors of all ages to experience and enjoy art, and, as ever, I’m proud to have the opportunity to showcase our local creative talent.
“Since we launched the trail in 2017 it has gone from strength to strength and we’re always looking for new ideas to make the trail fun for visitors. This year, our sculptors have told me how much they’ve enjoyed the prehistoric theme and so, for the first time, we’ll be encouraging further additions to the trail over the coming months. Make sure you keep an eye out!”
From Saturday 26 July there will also be a children’s prehistoric stamp trail for families to enjoy. Collect your map from the Manor House and explore the trail through Cockington Court’s grounds and studios, and into Cockington Village – collecting all the stamps as you go! There’s no need to book in advance and the trail will cost £1 per child to take part. The children’s trail will be open daily, 10:30am to 4:00pm from Saturday 26 July to Sunday 31 August.
Visitors to Cockington Court this summer can also enjoy refreshments at the Seven Dials café, visit the creative makers in their studios, shop in the gallery, or enjoy one of the many dog-friendly walks around the estate. For more information visit the Cockington Court website.
