If you are thinking of becoming a Foster Carer you can speak to a member of Torbay Council’s Fostering team at one of many local events taking place this summer.

From summer fairs and fetes to water carnivals and family fun days, there is something for everyone and the Fostering team will be on hand to talk to anyone who is thinking about Fostering.

Councillor Nick Bye, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services for Torbay Council, said: “There are some fantastic events taking place in Torbay and surrounding area this summer and our Fostering team will be attending many of them so you can ask them any questions you may have about Fostering.

“We are particularly looking for short breaks Foster Carers in Torbay, as well as respite or stay over Fostering. So please do take the opportunity to speak to a member of our Fostering team.”

Events the Fostering team are attending this summer

• Saturday 19 July – Ipplepen Village Show at Ipplepen Play Park, 9 Biltor Road, Ipplepen, Newton Abbot, TQ12 5QQ from 10am to 5pm.
• Saturday 2 August – Shaldon Beach Water Carnival at Marine Parade, Shaldon from 10.30am to 6pm.
• Sunday 3 August - Bovey Tracey Grand Summer Fete at Mill Marsh Park, Bovey Tracey, Devon, TQ13 9FF, from 10am to 4pm.
• Sunday 10 August - Babbacombe Fayre at Babbacombe Downs, Babbacombe Downs Road, Torquay, Devon, TQ1 3LF, from 11am to 5pm.
• Sunday 24 August - Lions Club Fun Day at Youngs Park, Goodrington, Paignton, TQ4 6BU from 11am to 4pm.
• Saturday 30 August - Torre Abbey Summer Fair at Torre Abbey, The King's Drive, Torquay TQ2 5JE, from 10am to 5pm.
• Sunday 31 August - Eat Festival, Totnes at Steamer Quay and Longmarsh, TQ9 5EQ, Totnes, from 10am to 5pm.
