Jobseekers across Torbay are invited to the Torbay Jobs Fair where there will be hundreds of jobs on offer across a wide range of sectors and industries, offering an excellent opportunity for people looking for a new role. The event allows Job Seekers to make valuable connections, explore various career paths and stay informed about the local job market.

The event is free to attend and will take place at Torquay Town Hall Assembly Rooms on Friday 4 October from 9.00am to 12:00pm. Alongside ourselves, over thirty employers will be attending the event, including: The Mercure and Ibis Styles, NHS, SWISCo, BOWA, Riverford Organic Farmers, Torbay Pharmaceuticals, The Riviera International Centre and many more.

There will be a Disability Confident session from 9:00 to 9.30am when attendees who require additional support will be able to experience the event during a quieter time.

The jobs on offer include part-time, full-time, and seasonal work across administration, care, construction, customer service, hospitality, retail, sales and more.

Organised by our Economic Development Team in partnership with Jobcentre Plus, the free event is open to everyone looking for work or wanting to learn more about local job opportunities. Jobseekers are invited to come along on the day, no booking is required and are advised to bring copies of their CV and be prepared to have a chat with lots of local recruiters.

Jobcentre Plus will be on hand to offer job application and CV advice and our Economic Development Team will be offering business start-up and self- employment guidance.

Councillor Chris Lewis, Cabinet Member for Place Development and Economic Growth said: “The Torbay Jobs Fair attracts a mixture of different employers from various industries, all recruiting for local jobs. The event is a great way to speak with potential employers face-to-face and to learn more about local job opportunities and discover live vacancies. Last year, over 350 people attended the event with many successfully securing new jobs and training opportunities.”

“We’re delighted to organise the event again this year and are pleased to have a wide variety of employers attending to showcase their business. If you’re looking for work, a change in career direction or training opportunities, then make sure to go along. People of all ages, backgrounds and levels of experience are welcome.’’
