We are looking to work with investors, occupiers, and developers to restore two of our landmark buildings; Oldway Mansion and Torquay Pavilion. Both sites offer exciting opportunities for residential, leisure and commercial ventures.

We have secured £105m investment from Government in the form of Levelling Up, Town Deal and Future High Street Funding. This is alongside a share of £200m from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to transform the Bay’s heritage.

With this commitment from Government, last year we appointed a regeneration partner. Together, we and our private sector partner are working through investment and commercial opportunities to make Torbay, the place to live, work and invest in.

Cllr Chris Lewis, Cabinet Member for Place Development and Economic Growth for Torbay Council, said; “We have secured public and private sector investment over recent years which is allowing us to now move forward with our redevelopment and regeneration plans. Working with the community to deliver a resilient future for Oldway Mansion and Torquay Pavilion is a priority for us and seeking these expressions of interest is a step towards us doing that.

I want to confirm that these two historic properties are not for sale. Restoring both buildings will require us to work with our public and private sector partners to ensure that both sites have a sustainable future. We look forward to moving to the next step in the journey to bring these popular buildings back into use.”

Oldway Mansion, a Grade II listed building in Paignton represents an exciting development opportunity. Following extensive public consultation and in line with overwhelming public support, our aspiration is to enable the estate to be returned to a community-focused health, wellbeing, and creative hub within a historic setting.

Torquay Pavilion is a Grade II listed landmark building situated in the heart of Torquay’s harbour area. We are keen to collaborate with private partners to restore the pavilion and return the building to an active life, contributing to the vibrancy of the Torquay Harbour area.

Torbay is at the beginning of a once in a generation transformation journey. To find out more about these investment opportunities visit: https://torbaystory.co.uk/opportunities/

The deadline for registering interest is Sunday 16 June 2024.
