We're beginning a series of in-person events around Torbay so that residents can speak directly to councillors and officers about the issues that matter to them.
The day-long events will take place at various locations across the Bay and will each have a theme.
The events will be a chance for us to:
- Inform residents of our work and how we can support them
- Listen to concerns and issues and take these away so we can respond in the most appropriate way
- Let residents know how to keep up to date with news – i.e. by signing up to One Torbay or following us on social media
- Use the conversations at these events to inform future engagement and communications.
Councillor David Thomas, Leader of Torbay Council, said: “Engaging with our residents is important to us as it gives us the chance to hear directly about people’s concerns. These events also help us to capture residents’ thoughts and feedback on consultations, changes to policies and services.”
The first event takes place at the Paignton Community Hub at Paignton Library on Friday 29 September from 10am to 4pm.
The theme of the first one, which takes place on World Heart Day, will be public health.
It will see the launch of our Director of Public Health's annual report, which this year highlights cardiovascular health.
There will be the chance for residents to get their blood pressure checked as well as hear from a local GP about how to look after their heart. Other health professionals will also be attending.
All are welcome to attend.
