Have your say on 'The Big Plan' - Torbay Learning Disability Strategy

People in Torbay with Learning Disabilities and those who care for them or work with them are being asked for views on a new plan.

People in Torbay with Learning Disabilities, their Support Workers, Family, Carers and health and social care workers are being asked to give their views on a new Learning Disability Strategy.

The Big Plan for Torbay is Torbay Council’s plan to help make a positive difference to the lives of people with a learning disability of all ages.

We have split our Big Plan into six areas:

  • Community & Independence
  • Home
  • Health
  • Care & Support
  • Safety
  • Family, Friends & Carers

Councillor Hayley Tranter, Cabinet Member for Adult and Community Services, said: “We are committed to improving the lives of people with Learning Disabilities in Torbay and we want as many people to give us their views on The Big Plan as possible – whether it’s people with a Learning Disability, their family and friends, Support Workers, NHS and care workers, volunteers, and charities working with people with Learning Disabilities, or any other interested stakeholder.”

You can read The Big Plan which is in Easy Read format, on our website

We will also be providing paper surveys at a number of key sites. If you need a paper copy of the survey or want to have your say another way please call 01803 208136 or email engagement@torbay.gov.uk

The consultation closes on 28 July 2023.
