Play in the street for free this half-term

Returning for a second February half-term, residents and visitors are invited to enjoy fun and entertainment for free in the main town centres of Brixham, Paignton and Torquay.

Playing in the Streets returns to Torbay’s main town centres this half-term.

Returning for a second February half-term, residents and visitors are invited to enjoy fun and entertainment for free in the main town centres of Brixham, Paignton and Torquay.

Running over three days between 11am and 3pm, you can expect to see and get involved in drumming, willow wand making workshops, circus skills, storytelling, music sessions, and creative play, all whilst being entertained by street performers and walkabout acts.

Designed not only to offer free entertainment for families, but the events also encourage people to shop local and support independent businesses whilst in the town centres.

The dates and locations are:

  • Fore Street, Brixham on Monday 13 February
  • Torbay Road, Paignton on Tuesday 14 February
  • Lower Union Street, Torquay on Wednesday 15 February

Cllr Mike Morey, Cabinet Member for Infrastructure, Environment and Culture for Torbay Council, said; “We’re delighted to be bringing Playing in the Streets back for a second time. Last year the activities really added some colour and fun to the high-street and were enjoyed by hundreds of families. Supporting our high-streets wherever we can, really makes a difference – especially to local independent traders.”

Playing in the Streets is funded by us and is being delivered by Tonic Creatives, a local events company.
