We are delighted to announce Katherine Findlay has been appointed and today starts work as freelance project director for Oldway Mansion.

Katherine will have responsibility for working with us and the Oldway Trust to drive forward plans that identify a resilient and sustainable future for the much loved local site.

Having previously worked on a variety of south west heritage projects, Katherine brings a wealth of experience in conservation management, developing successful funding applications and managing volunteer teams.

With a Post Graduate Diploma in Interpretation, Representation & Heritage, Katherine is also a Member of the Association for Heritage Interpretation and published author.  

Following a successful bid submission ‘Developing a resilient future for Oldway’ that saw almost £150,000 of National Lottery Heritage Funding secured, Katherine will drive forward work that will include developing a Masterplan and Conservation Management strategy for the mansion and estate.

Working with community partners including the Oldway Trust, supported by the Friends of Oldway and the Oldway Gardens Group the project is an important and essential first step to restore and give Oldway a new lease of life.

Katherine Findlay said, “I am very excited to take on this role that will help to build a vibrant and sustainable future for Oldway. I know how much Oldway means to local communities and I’m very much looking forward to working with all the partners involved.”

Chris Robson, Interim Chair of the Oldway Trust, said; “The appointment of Katherine and her experience means we can now start to move forward at pace with developing the frameworks and structures that are needed to get Oldway Mansion open and functioning again for the community.”
