If your child was born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018, they will be due to start primary school in September 2022.

The application process opens today, and we urge all parents and carers to get their applications in before the deadline of 15 January 2022.

No places will be allocated until after the closing date, meaning families are advised to take their time before making their application. Up to three preferred schools can be included on the application, including schools outside of Torbay.

To assist families with making their choices, helpful guides are available on the Council’s website which includes details of the admission criteria for each primary school.

Applying online is the easiest and quickest way.

Councillor Cordelia Law, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services for Torbay Council, said: “We want to make the application process as fair and smooth as possible. If there is an older child at the preferred school, the child currently goes to nursery at the school or there has been an application made directly to the school, parents and carers must still apply using the application form.”

Parents will receive notification of the place allocated to their child on 19 April 2022.
