The English Riviera Wheel and Carousel will be returning to Torquay and is set to be open by Saturday 11 July.

Due to arrive in Torbay over the coming days, the return of this iconic summer attraction is perfectly timed with the reopening of the hospitality sector to locals and visitors.

The installation of the wheel will take about one week by ten fully trained and qualified personnel using an inbuilt hydraulic system. It will be transported to Torbay on ten specially adapted trailers.

Cllr Mike Morey, Cabinet Member for, Infrastructure, Environment and Culture, Torbay Council, said: “A little later than usual this year, but we are thrilled that the Big Wheel is back to offer breath-taking 360 degree views of the Bay”.

James Mellors, a Director of Mellors Group, said: “This will be the eighth year we have featured an attraction in Torbay. This year our attraction has been specifically chosen to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines with both open air and rotating gondolas, which will bring a brand new exciting experience for the entire family".

To guarantee the health and safety of all visitors, all guidance will be adhered to and social distancing measures will be in place.

Visitors are asked to take note of all signage and guidance to protect themselves and others whilst visiting the attraction.

The wheel will be operating daily from 10am until 9pm most days with the last operational day being in late October.

The wheel will be competitively priced to enable all to enjoy.

The website www.englishrivierawheel.co.uk will be going live very soon with further details.
